Level 4 : MDCL Sample Assessment 2 Q8

Can anyone please explain how the answer in part b is arrived at? I understand the answers in the boxes but I can't understand how the £1785 is calculated...... It's driving me nuts!! I have an exam on Thursday so I really need to get this straight in my head....
